Many people attempt to remake Jesus in their own image, rather than seeking to turn from sin towards holiness.  The words of Jesus are selectively interpreted, often twisted, to suggest that Jesus accepts unbelief and that everyone will be saved in the eternal judgment.

This is not the case.  From today’s Gospel reading from the Mass (Mark 16:15-18):

“He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned.” (Mark 16:16).

Jesus does not mince words; He requires true repentance, as the record of His first preaching confirms:

“Repent for the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand.” (Matt 4:17).

It is a dangerous gamble to reinterpret what Christ says to meet one’s own selfish needs/sins and ideologies, for one’s salvation is at stake.

With life itself hanging in the balance, don’t gamble with your own salvation and the salvation of those whom you love/influence.  Seek the true teaching of Christ in His Holy Catholic Church.
